What We Fish For
The most exciting species on the planet!
At FlyCastaway we pride ourselves in targeting a huge range of species at destinations all over the world, from monster size Giant Trevally on the remote outer atolls of the Indian Ocean, world record size Tarpon in the Atlantic Ocean, trophy Tigerfish in some of Africa's most pristine rivers, as well as large trophy Trout & Salmon in New Zealand & Russia resepctively, we target them all!
Each species has it's own unique appeal. Whether it's the stalking double digit Bonefish tailing in ankle deep water in the Indian Ocean or attempting to gain control of your fly line as 20lb Tigerfish demolishes your fly and speeds off down one of Africa's premier Tigerfish rivers, the species itself, the tackle and techniques used to target it as well as the location in which they are found, all have their own unmistakable pulling power.
There is no species which does not interest us. If the fish grow large, in wild and remote places, you better believe we are eager to fish for them and even more eager to put our clients onto them. Added this, we are are constantly searching for new venues, no matter how difficult they are to get to, they could just maybe could turn out to be next St Brandon's or Providence.
Our guides are all extremely versatile when it comes to targeting our oceans and rivers weird and wonderful species, never sitting back on their lorals, they are constantly trying to improve current techniques. In our minds there are very few fish ...if any....which cannot be targeted succesfully on fly, so much so we have been at the forefront of developing technques for a broad range of species such as Bumphead Parrotfish, Triggerfish and Milkfish!
"I took the road less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." Robert Frost
