Vanderkloof Dam offers world class fly fishing for Smallmouth and Largemouth Yellowfish! The dam itself is South Africa’s second largest reservoir, its 270km of structure filled shoreline providing the ideal habitat for the dam’s large numbers of Smallmouth and Largemouth Yellowfish, as well as some truly large Carp and Catfish. Best of all, the general clarity of the lake offers some truly exceptional sight fishing. Fishing on the dam takes place from three custom built skiffs. Each boat is equipped with raised front and rear casting decks, as well as a sneaker motor to ensure our guests maximise their time on the water with us in comfort.

The Orange River that flows out of the lake provides exceptional dry fly fishing for Smallmouth Yellows in it’s own right. Huge numbers of Smallmouth Yellows consistently feed in the shallows and provide endless targets. There is also a healthy population of Largemouth Yellows in this section of river for anglers looking to catch their first or biggest ‘Largie’.
