Week Eight of the April – June 2026 season at St Brandon’s Atoll was defined by spring tides, bringing stronger water movement and dynamic fishing conditions across the flats. The increased tidal range demanded adaptability from both guides and anglers, but those who embraced the changing conditions were rewarded with another memorable week of world-class fishing.

Bonefishing remained outstanding, with 95 bonefish landed over the course of the week. Once again, the quality of fish stole the show. Henry landed a magnificent 10 lb bonefish, one of the standout catches of the season and a true trophy by any standard. Ethan added an impressive 9 lb fish, while Malcolm rounded out the highlights with a superb 8 lb bonefish. These exceptional catches reinforced St Brandon’s reputation as one of the world’s premier destinations for trophy bonefish.

Permit fishing continued to reward anglers willing to put in the time and effort. Despite the stronger tidal movement, three permit were successfully landed. Preben enjoyed an excellent week, bringing two beautiful fish to hand weighing 7.5 lb and 6 lb, while Henry added another quality 6 lb permit. Each fish reflected the patience, accurate presentations, and persistence required to tempt one of the flats’ most challenging species.

The bluefin trevally added another burst of excitement to the week’s fishing. Although only one bluefin was landed, its explosive take and powerful fight served as a reminder of why this species is such a favourite among anglers visiting the atoll.

From trophy bonefish and rewarding permit encounters to fast-paced trevally action, Week Eight delivered another memorable chapter in an exceptional 2026 season.
